About

I live in an working-class rust belt city in the northeast USA with my artist semi-stay-at-home-dad Husband and two children: Girl – born in 2007 and Boy – born in 2010. I work full-time for a very small company supporting business software. (a job which I love!)

Nearly everyone I know is struggling with their marriage after having kids, yet I can’t find a single blog about these struggles. All the blogger seem to say they are “happily married”. Sorry – we aren’t.

This blog is about my struggles:

  • to heal peacefully end my cracked and crumbling marriage (resentment, distance, anger and possibly some emotional abuse )
  • to be a good mama
  • to retain my sense of humor (at least some of the time!)
  • to be happy

Not necessarily in that order.

I blog about my problems, my successes and everything in between. Since I am constantly searching for solutions to my struggles (hey, if I knew what to do, I would!), I am often lurking in the self help section of the local library and writing about my latest “ah, ha!” discoveries. I try to keep this blog somewhat positive while being true to my reality. (I hate being negative!)

I started this blog as a outlet for my thoughts but would love to connect with others, those who are struggling, who worry about struggling or who have solved their struggles.

Thanks!

PS late summer 2012 – I updated this to reflect the new reality… My marriage is beyond healing, now my struggle is to end it peacefully and establish a new normal with the father of my children.

I’m here. Read your post today and this one as well. I wish life were easier. And somehow it is when you find a kindred heart to share it with. I hope you will find peace through your journey…a steady hand to hold you. Hug.
